soulsearching 630 w/ben brophys sounds i feel mixtape
It was a pleasure to share this mix with Michael Ruetten for his highly respected ‘Soul Searching’ Radio Show. He heard a 2 hour mix I did & asked if he could share an hour of it on his show. Unfortunately I can’t locate the first half of the mix. It was uploaded to Soundcloud but somehow got deleted & I can’t find the source files.
Words of Michael Ruetten:
“. . . so i was just about to go on with this kind of 2010 rewind selection – not really a chart thing as i am not so much into this – as a mix came floating in spontaneously. out of the UK, by a man, who knows his music, his deep house music. checking soundcloud.com before hitting the record button i came across a very fine mix called “sounds i feel” by “bbb-1”, namely ben brophy who spread the word about this show in a very nice way over the last two years or so. wanted to give him a shout out anyway in the show but then asked if he could edit his 90 minutes mix on soundcloud.com/bbb-1 for soulsearching….that’s what he did and there you go: into the deep volume 2 as you may call it, finest deep house excursions, classics put together in an everflowing mix. thanks a lot , mr. brophy and see you in 2011 on a boat in croatia probably . . .
now it’s all about “what the world needs now 2010″ including rainer truebys snowflakes out of the shelves. the annual special present for you . – Michael Ruetten”
Somebody just sent me a message about an old ‘deep house classics’ mix I did that I’d forgotten about. I need to find the full mix from the archives & upload it, but Michael Ruetten, expert curator behind the widely respected Soul Searching Radio show got in touch & asked if he could share it.
Below is the first part of my mix. It starts at 1:07:18 of Michael’s show. If you’re not familiar with Michael, then check out his quality shows which are consistently full of soulful goodness, across the board! Click here http://www.mixcloud.com/soulsearching_michaelruetten.
NB: Alongside Rainer Truby, Michael delivered one of the finest afternoon DJ sets I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing whilst sailing on the infamous ‘Argonaughty’ along the Adriatic coastline a few years ago. Impeccable. People refused to get off the boat at the end!
